Kanye West, 2 Chainz, Drake Lead 2012 BET Hip Hop Award Nominations

With BET's Hip Hop Awards drawing closer, the network has released a list of this year's nominees. One of the most mentioned names on the list is Kanye West, who has earned 16 nominations.

West is gaining recognition for solo work and collaborative efforts with Jay-Z and his G.O.O.D. Music family. He's mentioned in nearly every category and he is sometimes named twice in a category.

One of West's collaborators, 2 Chainz, is also being recognized for his work throughout the year. Chainz is up for 10 nominations including one with Drake for Best Hip Hop Video. According to Soul Culture, Drake also earned 8 nominations this year including Best Live Performer and A$AP Rocky is holding steady with 6 nods, including one for Rookie of the Year.
